CAM Lite2 Theory

This component replaced MGD Lite and ASC Lite.

The Consolidated ASC MGD Lite2 chassis (CAM Lite2) consolidates the components of the Multi-Generational Data acquisition chassis (MGD) and Amplifier Support Controller (ASC) chassis into one unit on Signa Optima MR360 / Brivo MR355 forward production Systems cabinets. The CAM-Lite2 chassis combines the individual ASC and MGD boards into a common chassis.

Figure 1. CAM-LITE LOCATION

The CAM-LITE2 contains a custom 6U cPCI midplane that is comprised of a single custom bus segment, two cPCI bus segments and a common power system. This midplane will be referred to as the CAM-LITE2 midplane. The chassis has a right to left airflow path and utilizes two variable speed DC exhaust blowers. Power is distributed through up to two cPCI pluggable power supplies. Controller Area Network (CAN) communications and power supply test points are provided through an assembly mounted in the chassis

Refer to Figure 2 for the CAM Lite2 slot configuration.

Figure 2. CAM LITE SLOT CONFIGURATION

A single board computer (AGP 2) serves as the cPCI bus segment masters. A third processor board (SCP) is included as a peripheral load on the primary cPCI segment. This board provides serial interface functions and houses a CAN mezzanine card. The GE Healthcare custom boards IRF I/O, SRF/TRF, and SRF/TRF I/F (STIF) interface to one of the cPCI bus segments. Lastly, a custom, non-transparent, cPCI bridge, board is included to allow cPCI communication between the primary and secondary cPCI midplane segments. See Figure 3 for a system block diagram of the CAM-LITE2.
